This punch is the yolk of the egg.

Easter is just around the corner and with it the most important and oldest festival of Christianity (no, it's not Christmas).

Many customs and traditions have been established around the religious holiday, which are also maintained by non-believers.

This includes, for example, everything to do with eggs.

The egg symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus and thus also for fertility, new life and rebirth.

The custom of coloring eggs for Easter dates back at least to the Middle Ages.

Eggs painted red were meant to commemorate the shed blood of Jesus Christ.

For us foodies, the culinary importance of ice cream at Easter is not to be despised.

These were not allowed to be eaten during the 40-day period of Lent in the Middle Ages.

In order to preserve them over this long period of time, they were boiled and dyed (red) without further ado so that they would not be confused with fresh eggs.

The tradition of the colorfully painted eggs has remained with us to this day.

In addition to coloring eggs, hiding eggs and, in my opinion, eggnog are an inseparable part of Easter.
