In the first quarter of 2023, according to data from the analysis company Idc, it loses 29% equal to 56.9 million units shipped, the decline of Apple affects -40%.
According to analysts, the market has returned below pre-Covid levels due to weak demand, unsold stock in warehouses and a generalized economic crisis.
IDC does not think there is a short-term change, as "the high inventory will persist through the middle of the year and potentially into the third quarter."
News could arrive with the beginning of the new year, when computer updates are expected with new Chromebooks and the transition of most customers to Windows 11.
Leading the ranking of manufacturers is Lenovo with 22.4% market share, 12.7 million PCs shipped and a 30.3% year-on-year decline.
HP follows with 12 million and a share of 21.1%, while Dell occupies the third position with a decrease of 31% (9.5 million PCs shipped).
In fourth position, Apple dropped drastically according to analysts with -40.5%, it shipped 4.1 million units against 6.9 million the previous year.
After Cupertino there is Asus also in decline (-30.3%) with 3.9 million computers shipped and an almost stable market share of 6.8%.
