The case began with various complaints from residents of the same building affected by the nauseating odors generated by the accumulation of cats and the lack of hygiene, in addition to the lack of care for the animals.

After the intervention of the Specialized Fiscal Unit in Environmental Matters (UFEMA), in charge of Carlos Rolero Santurian, and the Sole Secretariat of Dr. Ricardo Bomparola, a search was carried out in a house on 100 Thames Street, in the neighborhood of Villa Crespo from this city, where 23 cats were rescued

The cats were in poor health.

But what most caught the attention of the agents was that during the inspection, a plastic container containing frozen cat bodies ready to be cooked was found inside the freezer, as well as a pot with the remains of the animals that were in the freezer

The procedure was carried out by the Judicial Investigation Corps, the Dogs and Environmental Crimes Divisions of the City Police, the General Directorate of Environmental Control (DGCONTA), the Environmental Protection Agency (APRA), the Urban Hygiene Directorate of the Government of the city and the Psychiatric SAME.

The agents found inside the freezer a plastic container that contained the bodies of frozen cats.

Likewise, the SAME staff determined that the owner of the cats has a picture of paranoid psychosis and psychotic decompensation, for which reason her transfer to the Durand Hospital was ordered for the purpose of being examined, and to recommend treatment to follow, in accordance with the CIJ Psychiatric Cabinet.

With respect to sentient beings, the rescue of all the cats was ordered and their delivery under judicial custody act to different NGOs and rescuers summoned by UFEMA to participate in the measure.

The owner of the cats has a picture of paranoid psychosis and was transferred to a hospital.

Finally, the prosecutor arranged to draw up minutes regarding the cats found and the entire property was disinfected by the Urban Hygiene Entity.
