2023-04-12T13:17:39.117Z

With the launch on April 17 of the Le Figaro TV Île-de-France and Le Figaro Radio channels, the press group is accelerating its audiovisual development.

"It will not be a news channel, not a generalist channel, nor a chain of controversy and confrontations"

, launches Alexis Brézet, the editorial director of the Figaro Group.

"Our ambition is to offer a channel to understand the world around us: its challenges, its issues, its beauties and its promises"

, he specifies.

It is an extension of the domain of the Le Figaro brand

.

On Wednesday, the press group, led by Marc Feuillée, announced the launch from Monday April 17 of its two new channels Le Figaro TV Île-de-France and Le Figaro Radio, which complement its online offer Le Figaro Live created in 2017. A development in the audiovisual sector which is part

of “the omnichannel strategy of the Figaro Group”

, noted Marc Feuillée.

These two channels, where decoding and culture will be at the heart of the offer, were developed in partnership with the Secom group, of which Le Figaro is a 38.5% shareholder.

This independent group, founded in 2001 by Bruno Lecluse, notably publishes the thematic pay channels Melody, My Zen TV and Museum TV.

Le Figaro TV Île-de-France and Le Figaro Radio will benefit from the editorial resources of the press group, which has no less than 500 journalists, recalled Alexis Brézet.

Culture, heritage, history, discovery and the art of living will form the backbone of the program schedule of the TNT channel, which will also host documentaries, magazines, reports and broadcasts of live shows.

Broadcast in HD and free, Le Figaro TV Île-de-France will be available on channel 34 of DTT, in Île-de-France, and nationally on the various offers of ISP and satellite operators.

Its roots in the Île-de-France region - a pool of 14 million people - will take the form of 3 hours of programs per day, with in particular a daily event, "Bienvenue en Île-de-France", presented by Victoire Sikora, which

"intends to take the pulse of the region, reveal its actors and explore its riches"

.

Its first issue, next Monday at 7 p.m., will kick off the channel.

Investment of 6.5 million euros

Le Figaro's flagship programs already broadcast on its site with Figaro Live, such as "Clubs" (Politics, International, Ideas, Culture) or "Le Buzz TV", but also new thematic magazines ("En Privé", "Paris d 'school', 'Le Figaro la nuit', 'Le Figaro Immo', etc. will also have pride of place on the new TNT channel.

Second stone of this audiovisual building, Le Figaro Radio.

The station is broadcast in DAB+ in Paris, Marseille and Nice, then gradually in other cities.

Nationally, it can be listened to on the Figaro site and apps and on platforms such as Spotify or Deezer.

Le Figaro Radio

"wishes to provide ample space for analysis and decryption, in order to better understand today's debates, and will resume the major programs of Le Figaro in audio version, chronicles, stories and podcasts, supplemented by a very open “classic soft rock” musical program

,” said Laurence de Charette, deputy editorial director in charge of audiovisual and social networks.

To create this TV channel and this radio station, the press group has set up an audiovisual center of around thirty journalists – including 12 positions specially created for these launches.

In the new

Figaro

building , where the group is settling in from mid-April, one floor will be dedicated to audiovisual production, with in particular 5 studios (including an auditorium with an audience) and 4 technical control rooms.

According to Marc Feuillée, these launches represent an investment of 6.5 million euros this year, with

“the objective of being in balance by 2026-2027”

.

2026 will mark the bicentenary of the newspaper.
