(ANSA) - OUAGADOUGOU, APRIL 16 - Six soldiers and 34 civilian auxiliaries of the Burkina Faso army were killed yesterday during an attack in the north of the country probably carried out by a jihadist group.
A detachment of soldiers and Homeland Defense Volunteers (VDP) "was the target of an attack by unidentified armed men on Saturday around 4pm, near the village of Aorema," the governorate of Ouahigouya said in a statement.
"The provisional estimate of this attack" is "40 dead, including six soldiers and 34 volunteers".
