The sustainability trend, which took the world by storm a few years ago, has taken over almost every area of our lives.
and better this way.
Huge companies from all over the world, and also here in Israel, have adopted the approach of sustainability and environmental awareness, in a wide variety of ways and methods.
One of those worlds that adopted the all-important trend is the world of food and cooking;
In recent years, more and more food companies, marketing chains and even senior chefs have been infected with the bacteria, and try to waste as little food as possible.

For example, Chef Raz Rahab - one of the leading chefs in Israel today, has been advocating for quite a few years the Zero Waste method - maximum extraction of food and its leftovers.
He makes use of vegetable peels, leftover bread and more, for the benefit of different and varied gourmet dishes.
And he is not alone.
Chef Ran Shmueli McClaro, Shiral Berger from the vegan OPA and other chefs also try to make use of all the different parts of the products served in their restaurants, in order to avoid, as much as possible, throwing food unnecessarily.
Has been advocating the Zero Waste method for quite a few years now.

According to the report on food loss and food rescue in Israel by Collect Israel and BDO, no less than 2.6 million tons of food are lost each year in Israel, while the environmental cost of food loss in Israel is estimated at NIS 3.6 billion. In fact, according to the "H, no less than 50 percent of the food thrown in the trash each year is edible.
The blessed trend was also adopted by Shufersal Group several years ago, after the company realized that food waste has economic, social and environmental consequences.
At Shufersal, customers are encouraged to buy only what they need, thereby also avoiding throwing food in the trash and saving thousands of shekels a year.
"Israelis are a nation of abundance," says Tali Toval, VP of Corporate Communications at Shufersal Group. "We like the fridge to be full of good things, but the bottom line is that many waste and throw food away in large quantities."

"That's why, back in 2016, we launched a project in collaboration with an organization to give, through which we provide families in need with excellent food products that were simply not purchased that day. In fact, there isn't a day that goes by that we don't save leftover food and every year thanks to the employees of our branches, we increase the donation These are vegetables and fruits, dairy products, pastries and breads, which reach many families. In 2022, for example, 3,817 tons of food were donated to 30,000 families worth 60 million shekels, which is crazy.
