David Yahami was appointed today as the new CEO of the Fund for the Encouragement and Development of the Construction Industry. The team that will head the fund today includes, in addition to Yahami, the president of the fund and the president of the Haaretz Builders Contractors Association, Raul Sargo, member of the fund and chairman of the Histadrut Building Workers Yitzhak Moyal, and Henry Cohen, who will serve as deputy director general of the fund.



David Yahami brings with him rich experience of senior positions in the public and business sectors and deep familiarity with government ministries and local government.

Yahami will continue to serve as chairman of the foundation's infrastructure headquarters with the aim of continuing to lead the fight against the national infrastructure crisis, with the large gaps in the ratio of infrastructure to the need and to the OECD countries. Between the years 2020-2021, Yahami served as the CEO of the Ministry of Environmental Protection

The ministry's new waste strategy with a financial scope of NIS 6.5 billion;

A government decision to establish a committee of CEOs that recommended the evacuation of petrochemical plants from the Haifa Bay and promoted the Innovation Bay program; a fight against polluting power plants that led to the shutdown of 4 gas-fired power plants and leading an alternative plan for the establishment and use of solar energy and the inclusion of large bottles in the deposit law. This move was successfully passed Hundreds of millions of bottles from the landfill for recycling and returned to the public and local authorities about NIS 100 million per year.

Yahami took office at a time when the construction and infrastructure industry is in a deep crisis of rising raw material prices, large gaps in infrastructure, a growing lack of hundreds of thousands of housing units and a lack of professional personnel in the industry amounting to tens of thousands of workers.



Raul Sargo, the president of the fund, said in response, "I congratulate David Yalami on his assumption of office. I am convinced that Yalami brings with him the experience and skills required for this challenging position in order to successfully deal with the crisis in the industry and with the challenges we face in infrastructure and housing."



Itzik Moyal, MD, president of the fund, said, "I am happy about Yahamo's entry into the position at such a challenging time for the fund in order to stabilize the construction and infrastructure industry, which is going through severe shocks.
