Harsh attack by China against the G7 and a harsh threat to the US: "With the sale of US arms to Taiwan, you are playing with fire"
.
The G7 foreign ministers meeting in Japan "ignored China's solemn position and objective facts, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs, and maliciously slandered and discredited China," according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin who calls the final joint statement, "full of arrogance, bias and sinister anti-China and China-containment intentions."
Beijing, Wang added in the daily briefing, "expresses its strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this, presenting tough grievances to Japan which hosted the meeting".
Beijing should also rail against the US.
China "is strongly dissatisfied and strongly opposes" the US sale of 400 Harpoon anti-ship missiles to Taiwan to discourage an invasion by Beijing's troops.
"Facts have proved that the current situation in the Taiwan Strait is facing a new round of tension, and the root cause is that the Taiwanese authorities have repeatedly tried to rely on the US for independence," while some people in the US they intend to "use Taiwan to contain China", Wang said, recalling that "it is very dangerous to play with fire"
The G7 foreign ministers at the end of the meeting put on paper that countries that provide assistance to
Russia
for the war in Ukraine will pay "a heavy price".
The senior diplomats, meeting in Japan, in the final statement also announced their intention to strengthen the application of the sanctions already taken against Russia and consider Moscow's announcement of its intention to send nuclear weapons to Belarus "unacceptable".
Foreign ministers also urged
North Korea
to "refrain" from any further nuclear tests or ballistic missile launches or face a "robust" response.
And on
Taiwan,
the G7 diplomats insist that "there is no change in the basic positions, including the declared 'One China' policies", but oppose Beijing's "militarization activities" in the South China Sea.
The G7 has also called for an "immediate" end to the fighting in
Sudan
, where clashes between the regular army and paramilitary forces have killed nearly 200 people since last Saturday.
"We urge all parties to immediately end the violence, ease tensions and restore civilian rule in Sudan," diplomats from major industrialized countries said at the end of two days of talks in Japan.
