Last day at the Village for the Earth at Villa Borghese in Rome which, on the occasion of the celebrations of World Earth Day 2023, organized by Earth Day Italy and the Focolare Movement, enlivened the capital for five days with over 600 events between the of Villa Borghese, the Terrace of the Pincio and the Cloud of Fuksas of Eur.
Important today is the presence of Cardinal Matteo Zuppi, president of the CEI, who will celebrate the closing Mass of the Village, at the Galoppatoio of Villa Borghese, at 18.30, inside the Tent of Peace of the Franciscans.
To welcome Cardinal Zuppi, the director of Edizioni Frate Indovino, Paolo Friso.
This year the presence of the Church has been continuous within the Village not only through the main Vatican media, in particular Vatican News and Vatican Radio, but also with the visit of numerous Church personalities, including cardinals Konrad Krajewski, José Tolentino De Mendonça, Mario Grech, Lazzaro You Heung-Sik, Monsignors Claudio Giuliodori, Vincenzo Zani, Baldassare Reina, Dario Gervasi, Benoni Ambarus.
The message that Pope Francis shared for World Earth Day 2023, on April 22, through the Regina Caeli in St. Peter's Square and the publication of a Tweet, tagging Earth Day Italy, is of great international importance.
"In a moment of great ecological and humanitarian crisis like the present one - declared Antonia Testa and Pierluigi Sassi, organizers of the Village - close this great celebration for the Earth with a prayer for Peace together with the Franciscans of Fra Indovino and a Cardinal like Matteo Zuppi, who has done so much for peace in the world, is a strong message of hope that fully represents the spirit of this event".
