Itai Bezaleli, Noa Kirel's stylist in a festive interview for Independence Day - "Noa's outfit for Eurovision is nothing short of amazing"

While the rift in the nation this year managed to seep even into the Memorial and Independence Day events, the Eurovision Song Contest that will be held in about two weeks appears to have the potential to produce a moment of unification in which we will all, hopefully, be on the same side.

The desire for possible celebrations in the fountain of Dizengoff Square (the Rabin one is disabled due to the railway works) sent us to a dense conversation with the man of the hour in Israeli fashion -

Itay Bezaleli

(42), the tight stylist of the local unicorn.

Is everything ready for Eurovision?

"Of course! I'm coming to Liverpool with six suitcases, full of blocks for Noa, all of Israeli design and sewn especially for her. Besides the show on stage there's a red carpet, interviews, dinners. Noa and I don't give up on locks and any opportunity to create interest."

"Neta (Brazilian) will also appear in the finals, adds Bezaleli, "so I have preparations for both, but I attached to her Omer Yahav, who worked with me for years, she understands best that I have to be there for Noa.

The look you will wear is my design, I was designed by Zach Irving, a crazy designer from London, but Omar will be amazed.

These are locks that are going to be exposed to 200 million people watching the final, everything is prepared, organized and refined in advance."

And apart from the week of the competition, how do you juggle between Neta and Noa?

"Noa and Neta sold through me and they are friends and die for each other, there is a lot of support, so there is no problem."

How do you approach the Eurovision mission?

"You understand that you have to do locks, and the ambition is to be the best, of course. I've been rolling this in my head for six months, we asked local designers to make sketches and that of Alon Birna was chosen. I like working with him, he knows Noa and is a professional who also dresses Beyoncé and Lady Gaga. All I can say now is that Noa's outfit is going to be nothing short of amazing. For the look of the show, we arrive with two identical ones, one for backup, and regardless, I packed all the fabrics, also from the dancers' costumes, and there is a crazy seamstress who helps with any problems, request or change. Then there is peace of mind that any wardrobe drama can be solved."

Were there requests from international designers to dress Noa?

"Yes, all the time. Just recently I was contacted by someone whose name I cannot reveal, but Noa preferred Israeli design. We are in the State of Israel and there are amazing designers here, and performance clothes must be on stage and functionally suitable for movement and choreography and also with a connection to the dancers' costumes. The most logical In all respects to stick to local design. In addition, we work with Puma's Factory and Noa Fernsatori."

"The main thing is that there is attention on the red carpet, it is not obvious."

For the MTV awards ceremony, Noa Kirel wore a suit that was all decorated with Kanye West's face with Star of David necklaces, a clear and distinct statement after the international rapper's harsh statements.

For his part, Bezalili is less moved by the negative reactions due to the defiant look.

"Think about how many people walk a red carpet? The main thing is that there is attention, it's not obvious. We're not brain surgeons, I don't think Kanye is ugly. And I can still admit that he may not be the most beautiful. But it conveyed a message that was super important to Noa. For me The most important thing is that it flatters her. It's very easy to put on a black dress, zip it up and bye. I want to enjoy my work, want to connect, and if my clients are into classic, it's less of a vibe. I'm more circus and prefer Tamir Greenberg with a little black dress. Thirty forty percent of the looks What I did, I can't look at them afterwards, but luckily I'm not a doctor, you can make a mistake in my profession and it's not the end of the world."

"The real profit is that my art is everywhere" (Photo: PR)

Does the salary reward this crazy job?

"Look, I'm not poor, everything is good, but the real profit is that my art is everywhere and that I influence people. I have professionals who deal with the financial side, if I concentrated on that then there would be no real reward."

What is it like to accompany Noa and Neta all over the world?

"A lot of my schedule depends on the artists and their schedules, if it's hanging out with Neta all over Europe, in Dubai and China, with Noa I fly to LA and wherever I need to. I feel lucky and it's hard work full of great fun and, above all, satisfaction."

Are there already contacts with Dress Up Dance Stars to go to the next level?

"Yes. I work with Todrick Hall, an American musician and creator, I shot two music videos with him in Kiev. And there is Eva Max with whom I work. Todrick contacted me after he saw Netta, and as for Eva Eden Shabtai is her choreographer and she connected us. I definitely feel I want more, and my eyes are completely transported there."

What do you think is most Israeli?

"Fairs of local designers like T-Market. I've never seen it anywhere in the world. The underground that Israeli designers organize. It's amazing to me. There are hysterical talents here, and it's not just that Shankar is one of the best schools in the world in relation to our small country. I really like working With Bouri Shenkar on the performance clothes of Neta, Noa and Tamir. When it comes to a performance, it is often impossible to take a ready-made item from a collection intended for everyday wear because you have to move with and take into account a lot of things related to functionality. I have a fairly regular team consisting of Itamar Sharabi, Yuval Elroy and Gilad Proshan. I don't compare Alon (Libneh) to Noah's look."

In an interview with Time Out you said that you voted March and that your preference is men.

How do you feel about what is happening in politics now?

"Oh, I'm bad at it, I can only say that I'm scared, I read articles about hate for LGBT people, it scares me that there are people in the government who think that I don't deserve equal rights, that I'm second class.

I hope for the best."
