(ANSA) - BRUSSELS, APRIL 26 - "Italy will have to reduce the level of its debt, I believe that there is no Italian who is not aware, not only in government".
This was stated by EU Economy Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni on the sidelines of the presentation of the proposal to reform the Stability Pact.
"When this reform is approved, Italy will be able to do it more gradually and it will also be able to do it in the way Italy decides".
The pace of debt reduction with the new Stability Pact "will be much more gradual and reasonable than the twentieth rule, which has actually made the implementation of debt reduction mechanisms very difficult over the last 10-15 years", he added Gentiloni.
