Cancer doctors reveal the foods they will never eat in their lives - voila! health

But so much of cancer risk also depends on other behaviors, like how much alcohol you drink or the types of food you eat.

Unfortunately, carcinogens are everywhere and difficult to avoid.



"My philosophy is that you have to manage your exposure to carcinogens or carcinogens. You can't remove carcinogens from your whole life," Dr. Otis Brawley, associate director of outreach and community engagement at the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins, told The Huffington Post. A 2018 study found that barbecuing can expose you to chemicals that can cause cancer.

Soda and other sugary drinks

"I don't drink sugary drinks either, by the way," Brawley said.

A French study published in 2019 in the prestigious British Medical Journal found that there is a link between the consumption of sugary drinks and cancer.



The researchers from the University of Paris followed a hundred thousand people over the years.

The participants, who were 42 years old on average, were monitored for nine years and were asked about their daily consumption of 3,300 different food and drink items, including sugary drinks.

After taking various variables into account, the researchers concluded that drinking about 100 ml of a sugary drink a day - about two cans a week - can increase the risk of getting cancer by 18 percent and has been linked to early death.
