Now Edeka has jumped off the next US group.

In addition to Pampers diapers, other popular brands are also disappearing from the shelves.

Syke – Edeka has lost another large partner company.

The retailer could not agree on any prices with the US group Procter & Gamble – which has a drastic impact on the Edeka range.

In addition to Pampers, customers now also have to say goodbye to many household and care items.

Edeka announces the end of supplies to the US group Procter & Gamble

"We currently have 17 companies that do not supply us," said CEO Markus Mosa at the presentation of the annual financial statements in Hamburg on Tuesday.

He listed the consumer goods giants Mars and Pepsi as well as Procter & Gamble.

The "greed" of international branded goods is not abating, said Edeka CEO.

"We are clearly on the move in such a way that the branded goods industry maximizes its results and prefers to forego deliveries."

With more than 11,000 shops and around 409,000 employees, the Edeka association is Germany's largest retailer and would like to remain steadfast in the dispute over the pricing of brand manufacturers.

The Mars group has already stopped deliveries.

At the end of 2022, Edeka rebuffed the demand for a price increase.

That's why branded products like M&M, Snickers, Twix, Balisto, Bounty, Mars and Skittles are no longer available from Edeka.

The Mars delivery stop affects chewing gum from Airwaves, Hubba Bubba and 5Gum, the rice dishes from Ben' Original, pasta dishes from Mirácoli, as well as dog and cat food from Pedigree, Cesar, Whiskas and Sheba.

Other suppliers step in.

Brands like Oral-B, Always and Gilette are disappearing from the shelves at Edeka

The exit of Procter & Gamble is having an almost even more drastic impact on the range.

It will not only hit parents who miss the Pampers brand diapers - because there are many other well-known brands behind Procter & Gamble.

The group primarily manufactures care and household products.

In addition to the baby diapers and wet wipes from Pampers, there will also be no more detergent from Ariel, fabric softener from Lenor, hygiene products from Always or razors from Braun or Gillette.

In addition, consumers have to do without hair and skin care products from Head & Shoulders, Pantene Pro-V and Olay, as well as Fairy dishwashing liquid, Febreze odor eliminator, Meister Propper all-purpose cleaner and Swiffer dust remover.

Brands such as blend-a-med, Oral-B, Clearblue and Wick also belong to Procter & Gamble.

It could take some time before the consumer notices the change in the range.

For the time being, Edeka branches are stocked.

A price war was already noticeable in the supermarkets in January.

Some products are not available at Edeka and Rewe.

Food retailing in Germany is a highly competitive business.

The consumer advice center warns against being tricked by the supermarket with manipulated signs and false promises.
