Stiftung Warentest took a close look at cleaning agents for wooden floors.
However, there was usually no point deduction for the cleaning result.
Munich – Stiftung Warentest regularly writes test reports on the topics of electronics, household and health as well as finance, insurance and taxes.
For example, red nail polish was recently tested by Stiftung Warentest.
The consumer experts have even compared the quality of branded and no-name products.
In a recent test, 16 cleaning agents for wooden floors were put to the test.
Cleaning agents for parquet and laminate should clean the floor, ideally impregnate it and thus protect it from moisture for a long time - this is the claim of Stiftung Warentest.
The testers wanted to find out how well the balancing act between cleaning and care works.
Of course, the focus was also on the price-performance ratio.
However, some products damaged the wooden surfaces.
Cleaner for wooden floors: This is how the products performed at Stiftung Warentest
In addition to twelve special parquet and laminate cleaners and three soft soaps, an all-purpose cleaner was also tested, which according to the manufacturer is suitable for some wooden floors.
However, only four products achieved an overall rating of “good”.
"The best floor cleaners in the test remove dirt, dry quickly and also impregnate effectively," says the test report from Stiftung Warentest.
However, many agents for cleaning wooden floors failed to achieve a good test result.
They either left strong smudge marks after drying or attacked the surfaces of certain materials too much, according to criticism.
Own brands from drugstores performed particularly well:
Denkmit parquet care
from dm for 1.45 euros: Good (1.6)
Domol Parquet floor care
from Rossmann for 1.49 euros: Good (1.6)
Domol laminate & cork floor care
from Rossmann for 1.49 euros: Good (1.6)
Parquet from Emsal
for 4.90 euros: Good (2.2)

Laminate cleaning products were only able to convince the Stiftung Warentest to a limited extent.
Although the removal of dirt and dust was rated "good" or "very good", whitish smudge marks remained on six of the seven products.
Rewe's "Best Choice Parquet & Laminate Cleaner" only received an overall rating of "sufficient".
Two products led to severe color changes on painted surfaces and severely attacked the surface.
The products Dr.
Weber's Soft Soap and Dr.
Weber's Green Soap therefore only received the rating “sufficient” for material protection, overall they achieved the rating “satisfactory”.

Tip from Stiftung Warentest: Not every wood cleaner is suitable for parquet
The product testers have a tip: not every cleaning agent is suitable for every type of parquet.
Because there are sealed and open-pored floors.
While the parquet cleaners are suitable for both categories according to the provider, products that are generally advertised for cleaning wood can rule out unsealed parquet in the small print.

This also applies to soft soaps, the third group in the test field.
The three tested products achieved “good” to “satisfactory” cleaning results.
In the overall rating, the soft soaps each received the rating “satisfactory” due to poorer ratings, for example in terms of material protection and environmental properties.
