The Ukrainian authorities have reported Russian night raids in various cities of the country that would have caused at least two deaths in Dnipro and the activation of Kiev's air defense systems.
The missiles "have again killed some civilians in Dnipro. A young woman and a three-year-old boy died," the mayor of the city, Borys Filatov, explained on Telegram.
The Ukrainian Air Force has announced that it has shot down 21 cruise missiles and two drones.
“On April 28, 2023, around 4 am, Russian invaders attacked Ukraine from Tu-95 strategic aircraft from the Caspian Sea region. The Air Force anti-aircraft missile units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with the air defense systems of other components of the Defense Forces destroyed 21 of 23 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, as well as two UAVs of the operational-tactical level," the air force wrote on Telegram.
A Russian missile hit a nine-story residential building this morning, killing nine civilians and injuring 17 others in Uman, Cherkasy region of central Ukraine, Presidential Office chief Andriy Yermak said. quoted by the country's media.
"This morning the invaders attacked the Cherkasy region with cruise missiles in Uman," Yermak said.
In the images and videos posted online, the building is seen in flames and badly damaged.
Interior Minister Igor Klimenko announced on facebook that "three bodies were pulled from under the rubble and another person died in hospital. There are 17 injured, they are receiving medical treatment. Three children have been saved".
Air raid sirens have been sounding around the capital Kiev nearly two months since the latest attacks.
