Trouble after the Aldi bulk purchase: A customer used his kitchen scales and then wrote a salty complaint to the discounter.

Krefeld – An Aldi customer left a whopping EUR 97.96 in the branch in Krefeld-Uerdingen (NRW) on April 27, as his receipt documents.

Of that, 15.16 euros alone for four packs of chicken schnitzel.

But he wasn't happy with the purchase.

But on the contrary.

After eagerly using a kitchen scale, he wrote a salty complaint to the discounter.

Aldi customer suspects and takes out the kitchen scales

"Hello Aldi Süd, the day before yesterday we bought some items from Aldi Süd in Krefeld-Uerdingen," he writes.

“Among other things, chicken minute cutlets.

Now, after opening the packaging for the first time, I noticed that it weighs quite a bit.” He tried the scales.

The packaging weighs 42 grams without content, then 410 grams.

His bill: "Well, 32 grams are missing from the meat sold.

It may not be a lot, in our case alone that's 128 grams (four packages bought)." He suspects a system behind it: "Are the profit margins not enough for you or why are consumers being systematically cheated?"

Aldi customer assumes the discounter intent

According to his calculation, almost ten percent are missing from the pack.

Was it a glitch at the factory?

Or whether – this is of course also possible – something was wrong with the scales and they are not calibrated?

Or is he right in his assumption?

"It looks like intent," writes the stinky Aldi customer.

At the time of his posting on Saturday afternoon (April 29th), he was not the only one who was curious about the reaction of the discount chain.

Kitchen scales are used again and again by consumers these days - and then lead to public complaints.

A steak fan, for example, immediately called the store manager after making an unpleasant observation.

A Kaufland customer even measured the contents of the milk carton.
