(ANSA) - KIEV, 29 APR - Five children died in the missile attack that yesterday hit a residential building in Uman, in central Ukraine.
This was reported by the Ministry of the Interior, publishing an update on the tragedy that caused 23 deaths on Telegram.
"In the identification process, it emerged that 5 children died: two boys (one and a half and 16 years old) and three girls (8, 11 and 14 years old). One woman is considered missing. The search continues," the minister wrote, Ihor Klymenko.
"23 people have been confirmed dead as a result of the Russian missile attack, of which 22 bodies have been identified," the ministry said.
According to the head of the military administration of the Cherkasy region, Igor Taburets, the search continued throughout the night.
"The main phase of the works is expected to be completed in the evening," he wrote on Telegram, adding that 5 people, including one seriously ill, are hospitalized and so far, 176 people have been resettled in temporary accommodation.
