Hamburger, chips and drink for more than NIS 100. If at least it was justified - voila! Food

In front of Gate 5 in Bloomfield, Burger Station 23 operates, whose highlight is the "colored bun for every fan" gimmick. Unfortunately, this prank is the only thing good about her

Knowing that the following statement is subjective, I still allow myself to declare as if it were an absolute truth - football and hamburgers do not go together.

For more than four decades gross I've been frequenting Bloomfield Stadium, and I've never even considered eating a hamburger before a game.

It just doesn't connect mentally.

From the legendary Nelo's steaks in the 80s, through the pretzels of Abulafia to the shawarmas of Yaft Street, the meatball so associated with Americans was not taken into account.

Even when I lived in the United States in football, baseball and basketball stadiums it never occurred to me to order a hamburger.

Sausage, pizzas and greasy schnitzel (chicken fingers) were always ahead of him in line.

For all the columns of "Rosie the Taster"

On one of the last Saturdays I visited the mythical stadium in Jaffa (which in its new form is much less fun, but that's another discussion).

I have long heard about the hamburger stand in front of gate 5, the one where buns in a variety of colors are adapted to all the fans of the teams.

On the spur of the moment I decided to go for it this time.

The place is called Burger Station 23, and it is important for good order not to confuse it with the chain Burger Station.

I arrived about an hour before the afternoon game of Hapoel Tel Aviv.

A not long but respectable queue stretched in front of me.

It is evident that this place works well, among other things because its location is just perfect.

An hour before the game the place was still accessible.

The red for Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, the yellow for Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and the green for Maccabi Haifa fans, so there is an address for everyone.

The red fans in front of me were not impressed, most of them went for a standard bun in a standard shade

Next to the cash register, buns in many shades are displayed, a very cute gimmick - a red beet bun, a green spinach bun and a yellow turmeric bun.

The nutritional variety is padded by a strong and very diplomatic argument in the form of a color for each group - red for Hapoel Tel Aviv fans, yellow for Maccabi Tel Aviv fans and green for Maccabi Haifa fans, so there is an address for everyone.

And me, you ask?

I chose the "Burger 70" (NIS 74) on a black zinc bun.

Curiosity overcame me, but I admit that the need to be neutral was also at the forefront of my mind.

Only those who really love football will understand how logical this is.

What is Burger 70?

A 220 gram beef patty, lined with 100 grams of ground meat with onion and spicy pepper and cheddar cheese.

I also took a bottle of drink (NIS 12) and checked the option for chips, but NIS 15 for a small portion was too much.

I decided to give up, in the price part I will detail why, but first let's talk about the taste.

My meatball arrived after 25 minutes of waiting in the toasted bun.

The first bite will determine the TL or TL.

Well, it's three years

First, while waiting I noticed that a lot of meatballs come out of the plancha and are thrown aside until they are collected into buns, sometimes after a few minutes of waiting.

Obviously, with this amount of diners there is no other choice, but it doesn't look good and doesn't feel right.

Well, it's 3S. This meatball was almost as casual as Maccabi Tel Aviv's season, as tasteless as Hapoel Tel Aviv's attack and as unnecessary as Bnei Yehuda's lunch game on Friday. It had no special seasoning, the ground meat was chewy and in general it Was a lot less flashy than I thought. I wondered if I had made a mistake with the zinc bun, but admittedly it wasn't the one that was at the heart of the dish. It wasn't terrible, certainly not, but nothing to tell the guys about either.

So how did it come out?

The KMA index weighs the quantity, the price and the quality from 1 to 10. We have already gone over the taste, let's talk about the quantity, which in this case is also derived from the price. A 300 gram hamburger (and in this case, a 200 gram patty and another 100 grams of meat) is a hamburger of 300 grams, there aren't too many surprises in this portion. The point is that for such a meal to justify itself, there should also be a side dish. I'm sorry, but I don't have the heart to pay more than NIS 100 for a meatball, a drink and chips, so I gave up The chips. To make sure that chips paid for on the side are not the standard, I did a short tour of Walt. Some places have the chips as part of the dish, in others they come separately, but the patty (300 grams) costs less.

Just for comparison and to clarify the point, at Mason in Ramat Hasharon I paid NIS 84 for a meal (chips and drink) of a quality wagyu meatball that included significant toppings.

At Chapo Burger, such a meal cost me NIS 78, and at the small hamburger shop in Ramat Aviv, I parted with NIS 72.

In all these places it was a 200 gram patty and not 300, in some it is the only option (Maison has 300 grams, and I wouldn't reach NIS 100 there either).

By the way, at the original burger station (training), a double hamburger meal of 400 grams does not reach a triple digit amount.

Here the meatball is expensive, the can at an outrageous price and the chips in general at a separate cost, and in addition it is significantly less good food than all the four mentioned.

The only thing more embarrassing than the hamburger.

I felt embarrassed and angry, and this was before the game between Hapoel Tel Aviv and Bnei Rayna, where the anger gave way and the embarrassment for the Hapoel Tel Aviv fans took over completely.

Burger Station 23 gets the grade 4. Lower prices, improve the hamburger, increase the portion, do all or just a part.

Something here has to change.
