A diet of MKs and a selfie that drove the net crazy: Haim Cohen finally took over the Knesset buffet - voila! Food

2023-05-03T04:51:26.364Z

Chef Haim Cohen started operating the Knesset buffet. All the comments, the menus and the MKs. What are you eating at the Knesset buffet right now, where is the hummus and what is happening at the meat buffet? All the details >>>

In the video: May Golan was appointed minister for the advancement of women's status and confronted MK Ben Ari in the plenum: "hypocrite, liar" (without)

Long weeks of political hiatus came to an end this week with the opening of the summer session of the Knesset, and the flames spread again efficiently and intensely, without considering the festivities and with a strong desire, it seems, to continue burning and consuming exactly from the last hot point where the fire touched.

Thus, as an appetizer for what is yet to come, we got a verbal duel between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and opposition leader Yair Lapid on the limits of the narrative of the legal coup talks at the President's residence, and when this debate was still perceived as normative and almost civilized, MK May Golan arrived with A symbolic reminder of the time difference between New York and Jerusalem.

Because at this stage, and probably to everyone's chagrin, there is no common denominator between the hawkish camps in the tabernacle, and no visible horizon where they can meet, talk and understand.

There is no such denominator, and neither does Ofek, but there is Haim Cohen.

"Precisely the clients are fine."

Haim Cohen does relatively spectacular multitasking

boom.

The most Israeli chef ever celebrated the opening of his own seat, and entered with Feed Your Mind, his delicious hospitality business branch, into the Knesset buffet, while enjoying a relatively extensive renovation of the catering facilities, and status-appropriate branding.

His of course, it's better not to deal with the image of the politicians here, yes?

This includes, among other things, his personal presence on the dividing line, talks about "finally normal coffee", tempting pictures of carbohydrate and buttery pastries, expansion into "Knesset hummus", and a lot of smiles and cheers.

Smiles, cheers, and then complaints of course.

The lobster, the socks, the Sabbath and the bill of course

"Unreasonably long queue".

Lenore Deutsch reports

My shekel on the current attraction of Haim Cohen as the new concessionaire of the buffets in the Knesset: the food is delicious, and more importantly - the coffee is delicious.

Anyone who ever drank coffee in the Knesset knows how shocking the coffee was.

On the negative side - an illogically long line for lunch, and worse - everything is in HDP. I really hope it's for the pilot until they reset because it's a shame for the Knesset. pic.twitter.com/IGj89LD0KP

Cohen's very entry into the Mishkan provoked stormy reactions throughout the network, most of which dealt with the slightly (very) bitter theme of "look what they are eating at our expense".

Then the netizens turned to venomous criticism against members of the Knesset who dared to upload videos and photos from the buffet (because they are, apparently, not allowed to eat lunch and must constantly deal with the political crisis), including a "biting" criticism video of Benny Gantz and Michael Bitton ("Like in the house of Mother", they flattered), and of course mentioned a personality that is often associated with greediness.

The do-gooders, in their own way, reached the highest and most puritanical summit, and attacked Cohen himself, mainly because of a smiling photo of the chef with MK Boaz Bismuth. And washed in the waves of "Haim Cohen got into a fight with Borg in the poison machine, he lost a lot of points for me". Proportions, of course.

Selfie the quarrel.

What more?

Secular attacks against religious members of the Knesset who will now enjoy a chef who dares to cook on Shabbat in Tel Aviv, complaints about a slightly too large culinary gap between the privileged buffet of the members of the Knesset and what is served to the "simpletons of the Mishkan", and also a much-needed respite under the leadership of the wonderful Ruth Elbaz, who put the whole saga together This is in proper proportion.

"It would be amazing if Haim Cohen had a free coke tap at the buffet, but only for lefties," she tweeted, and continued from there to schnitzels in the shape of the Land of Israel, and the critical difference between feeding righties and lefties (spoiler: inevitably related to facial parts), just to lead this slightly dizzy helicopter to its most justified landing point.

Sarah Netanyahu's biscuit cake of course.

"Eating a head".

Cohen himself stood (or put himself, to be precise) a few weeks ago at the center of a rather stormy public brawl, when he attacked the racist-misogynistic-ugly show from MK Almog Cohen's creative house. "When I saw you in the Knesset talking about 'the voice of a sponge maker

' Lord, I thought of all the mothers and grandmothers who worked and are working in the sponge (of course also about my mother).

The disdain, arrogance, shamelessness and humiliation that came from your lips, as an elected official who has no idea how to behave, neither in the Knesset nor outside the Knesset, my heart goes out to our children," he explained. The other day, he spoke a little differently, naturally and due to the

circumstances probably met with MK Cohen).

"This is one of the highlights of my career, and a great honor," the flyer detailing the group's entry into the Mishkan read in his name, "I allow myself to be moved by the Zionism of this act."
