Many zoos have dog-free zones.

In some zoos, however, the four-legged friends are not allowed at all.

However, the team at Columbus Zoo in the US state of Ohio made an exception for police and therapy dog Otto.

He is even allowed into an area where not many dogs have been guests: to the polar bears.

One animal in particular appealed to him.

Impressive pictures are created, which the local police office shares on social networks.

Together with his owner Deputy Cox, the police and therapy dog Otto went into an underground passage.

They could watch the polar bears swim through the huge glass panes of the pool.

"It looks like therapy K9 Otto has a new friend," writes the police department.

And indeed: The therapy dog seems to find Lee the polar bear so exciting that he can't take his eyes off the pane.

Even when the huge animal swims over his head, he sits calmly.
