Visco, 'the ECB should go ahead with the juice on rates'

(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 05 - "The path of the ECB" is "clear" to fight inflation and rates need to be raised but "adelante con juicio".

This was stated by the governor of the Bank of Italy Ignazio Visco at the presentation of his new book 'Inflation and monetary policy' published by Laterza.

Visco underlined how the objective of fighting inflation was shared in the council meeting in Frankfurt but there was a difference on "ways and times".
