Eight months after the death of Elizabeth II, Charles III was (finally) crowned this Saturday, May 6 at Westminster Abbey.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, has laid the crown of Saint Edward on the head of the new King of England.
Just before the audience shouts in chorus in the building:
"God Save The King"
(understand, "May God save the king").
In the process, Prince William left the front row to pledge allegiance to his father.
On his knees, he pronounces his oath before the monarch: “I, William, Prince of Wales, pledge my loyalty, my faith and my truth to you, as your confidant.
God help me.”
The promise made, the first heir to the British throne rises, touches Charles's crown, and kisses him on the cheek.
What provoke the emotion of the 74-year-old monarch who then split an “amen”, followed by a “thank you William” (“thank you William”).
William pledges allegiance to his father, King Charles III, at his coronation.

Camilla, new Queen of England
A few minutes later, Camilla was in turn crowned.
As the coronation hymn composed by Andrew Lloyd-Webber was sung, the Queen was officially enthroned, as her husband looked on.
The complicit gaze of the couple will not have escaped anyone at that time.
The event is in any case historic, and marks the victory of a long impossible love.
