The official emblem of the coronation of King Charles III was created by the former chief designer of Apple, Jony Ive who in the Steve Jobs era conceived the style of iconic products such as the iPhone and the iPod.

The design honors the monarch's love of nature by uniting flora that symbolize the four nations of the United Kingdom in one image.

The rose of England, the thistle of Scotland, the daffodil of Wales and the shamrock of Northern Ireland form an image of St Edward's Crown, which will be placed on the head of the new king today 6 May.

The coat of arms shared by Buckingham Palace is rendered in the colors of the Union Flag, with the crown depicted in blue surrounded by further designs of the four plants in red, all against a white background.

"The design was inspired by King Charles' love for the planet, nature and his deep concern for climate issues - said Ive - The emblem speaks of the happy optimism of spring and celebrates the start of this new era for the UK".

The emblem was designed by Jony Ive and his creative collective, LoveFrom, the company he created after leaving Apple in 2019. Ive, a British citizen, holds approximately 14,000 patents worldwide, as well as doctorates from universities of Oxford and Cambridge, as well as of the Royal College of Art, of which he is chancellor.
