This Saturday, May 6, Camilla Parker Bowles is crowned “queen” alongside her husband Charles III. On this occasion, she presented herself in an outfit all in humility for the religious office, organized in Westminster Abbey, in London.

The eyes of the world are on the UK.

Eight months after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the country is finally celebrating the coronation of its new king, Charles III.

Camilla Parker Bowles, present at his side, is also crowned “queen” – and not “queen consort”, this Saturday, May 6, at Westminster Abbey in London.

Arriving from Buckingham Palace in the Diamond Jubilee coach, the royal couple appeared dressed in their state dress for the church service.

No more mention of "consort": Charles III imposes the title "Queen Camilla" on all official documents

As tradition dictates, the outfit of the two sovereigns is an outfit that has already been worn by members of the royal family at other events.

Charles III wore that of his grandfather, King George VI, at his coronation in 1937. Camilla was dressed in Queen Elizabeth II's dress for her coronation in 1953. A crimson velvet dress, adjusted by the dressmakers of Ede and Ravenscroft before the coronation.

Camilla arrived at Westminster Abbey in the carriage created in 2012 for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

Tribute to Elizabeth II

The queen had wild flowers drawn, such as forget-me-nots and celandines, representing her husband's affection for nature.

The floral emblems of the four nations of the United Kingdom can also be seen - a rose, a thistle, a daffodil and a shamrock.

For simplicity, and perhaps also to focus more attention on her outfit, the new queen has chosen not to wear a tiara.

Only a diamond necklace and earrings, in homage to Elizabeth II.

Indeed, the jewels belonged to the late queen, who died on September 8 in Balmoral (Scotland).

After the liturgical ceremony at Westminster Abbey, the King and Queen will dress in their robes.

Once again, Charles III will slip into his late grandfather's clothing, unlike Queen Camilla.

The latter will present a new creation in the United Kingdom, made exclusively for the occasion, fitted with a recycled crown.

Indeed, it belonged to the king's grandmother, Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, known as "Queen Mum".

A new tribute that should appeal to fans of the royal family.
