A 9-year-old girl is hospitalized in serious condition after being attacked by a pack in a house in Valle Hermoso, in Córdoba. As a result of the brutal attack, his arm had to be amputated. The family that owns the animals decided to euthanize the four dogs that provoked the attack.
The incident occurred this Sunday afternoon when a family was celebrating a birthday at home. There, there was the girl and her grandmother.
The family group had traveled from the town of Pilar for the birthday and were enjoying the afternoon when the little girl went out to the yard and was attacked by four dogs, according to the newspaper La Voz.
"We had gone to celebrate my sister's birthday. I went with my granddaughter. Her mom didn't go. We were many people, we were eating, he went out, we do not know what happened if he approached the dogs that were eating or what, "confirmed the grandmother of the girl attacked.
In a conversation with Cadena 3, the lady reported that "there were 4 dogs" that attacked her granddaughter. "They were my sister's, well-cared for, vaccinated dogs. The strange thing is that they knew the girl because they had already seen her on other occasions, "he clarified.
The woman herself also confirmed the decision of the family, owner of the animals: to sacrifice them.
The truth is that beyond amputating one of her arms, the girl is in serious condition: "She suffered the amputation of the upper left limb. He had an exposed fracture of the right shoulder blade, pulmonary contusions, multiple injuries to the scalp and ear pavilions," confirmed Verónica Petri, director of the Children's Hospital.
The doctor added that due to the severity of the injuries she had to enter "directly to the operating room" and that at this time "she is in an intensive care unit, with mechanical respiratory assistance, with a reserved prognosis and critical condition."
Another attack on a 12-year-old boy
At another point in Córdoba, a similar aggression was recorded. In the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood, there was a dog attack on a 12-year-old boy, who had to be treated at the health center in the area.
The dog also caused injuries to his extremities, although it was not as serious as the case of Valle Hermoso, since the child did not need hospitalization.
