Of the 175,045 events intercepted in 2022, supermarkets (12%) and fashion (11%) were the most affected sectors, along with banking and finance (10%) and the chemical industry (9%). In the scenario outlined by the report, Italy stands out for the incidence of ransomware - viruses that take devices hostage and demand a ransom - which are confirmed as one of the major risk factors for the security of companies: it is the fifth most affected country after the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and Germany. The most active cybercriminal groups are Lockbit, AlphV/BlackCat and Hive.
