Unlike a year ago, when the first days of May gave way to record summer temperatures almost summer, with peaks over 40 ° C in the shade, this year, as stated by Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the www.iLMeteo.it site, a long almost autumn phase is about to begin, with numerous rains and maximum temperatures even below 20 ° C.
In the next ten days the days will generally be cool and rainy and the drought problem could be partially solved.
Starting this evening, beneficial, slow, widespread rains with a higher infiltration rate than yesterday's strong thunderstorms will descend in the country. Another North Atlantic cyclone will enter Italy from the North-West, while some residual phenomenon will affect Sicily and Calabria due to a previous cyclone moving towards Libya.
On Wednesday 10 May, widespread rainfall is expected over most of the boot, with the most intense phenomena between Emilia Romagna and Alte Marche: here unfortunately we must point out that the rains will not be welcome, in fact they will often fall on highly vulnerable areas after the flood of 2-3 May. The soils of these areas are saturated and the hydrogeological risk is high due to the detachment, still possible, of some landslides.
But the bad weather will not cease: on Thursday and Friday the rains will still fall widespread in the Center-North, while in the South we can see a partial improvement.
In the south we will also have a temporary rise in temperatures that will often remain nailed below 20 degrees maximum on the rest of the territory:
