Before 7 vs. Wild Season 3, harsh accusations against Fritz Meinecke have repeatedly been raised. The YouTuber is intended to provide a platform for swearers and right-wingers.
Magdeburg – The survival show 7 vs. Wild has probably been the biggest event in the German YouTube bubble in recent years. The second season was so successful that the co-creator of the series, Fritz Meinecke, has already announced the third season for 2023. Even before filming, however, new criticism is voiced against Meinecke. More and more often there are accusations that Meinecke would create a platform for "swearers" and right-wing ideas with the selection of participants. 7 vs. Wild: "Schwurbler" and right-wing extremists among applicants of season 3
Criticism of nomination for season 3: The announcement of the third season came practically out of nowhere in April 2023. Shortly after the unveiling by Fritz Meinecke, the first nominations for the new participants of 7 vs. Wild came. As a big change to the upcoming edition, this time teams of two people each were to travel into the wilderness – one of these teams consisted of survival YouTubers Vanessa Blank and Survival Lilly. Mentioning the former set off alarm bells for some people in the community.
- Vanessa Blank is accused of being a "swearer" and of representing and disseminating right-wing ideas. Conspiracy theories and a questionable esoteric attitude are also attributed to her.
- Blank is noted as the administrator of a Facebook group aimed at lateral thinkers, right-wing extremists and Reichsbürger. Corresponding hints have also come up in the Reddit forum of 7 vs. Wild.
- There are regular calls to arm citizens and insulting posts against people with a migration background. (Posts and quotes are available to the editors)
- The co-administrator of this group is said to be Jörg Sprave, YouTuber and arms dealer.
Since the allegations against Vanessa Blank became known, the criticism has only grown. Bigger YouTubers have also weighed in and harshly criticized Fritz Meinecke's nomination. Blank declined to participate a few days after the nomination, but cited other contractual obligations as the reason. But the criticism doesn't stop there.
Nazi allegations in wildcard application: Problematic situations have also arisen with the applications for the wildcards of 7 vs. Wild, i.e. participation places for fans and lesser-known members. One of the applicants was Willi Hesse, operator of UrlagEntertainments on YouTube. Hesse showed up in an explorer's uniform from the 1920s – matching his videos, in which he shows historical uniforms and military tools.
There are very similar accusations against UrlagEntertainments, that Willi Hesse would have contacts with the right-wing scene, as well as depict himself with appropriate symbols. These accusations, such as the toast to a former officer of the Waffen-SS, have not only existed since the application for 7 vs. Wild Season 3. 7 vs. Wild: Criticism against Fritz Meinecke – Intended to provide a platform for problematic views
This is the criticism of Fritz Meinecke: The allegations against Willi Hesse became known during the second season, when he applied for a wildcard for the first time. Fritz Meinecke is now particularly critical of this matter. Instead of not considering the application, Fritz Meinecke also watched the application video in the livestream and reacted positively to it. He later shared all this as a video on YouTube.

The allegations now are that Fritz Meinecke in 7 vs. Wild would willingly provide a platform for people with potentially far-right views. The YouTuber is not free of controversy anyway. But the fact that he invited a supposed lateral thinker with possible connections to right-wing extremism into his show of his own accord is annoying even among fans.

How has Fritz Meinecke expressed himself so far? Fritz Meinecke has not yet commented on the criticism. However, he has since had the video with his reaction to Hesse's application video removed. The reason for this has not been confirmed, but it stands to reason that there was also some headwind against the 33-year-old from Magdeburg in the comments. It is also unclear what will happen with 7 vs. Wild – after various cancellations by nominated teams, the search for participants will probably continue for the time being.
