Black tea is not only popular as a hot drink. Parquet floors get a beautiful, fresh color again with a tea cure.

Even our grandmothers knew that black tea can also be used wonderfully in the household - for example for cleaning windows or for the care of wooden floors. The black tea revives the wood color, gives a natural shine and can even out small bright spots such as water stains. It does not matter whether it is a painted, oiled or waxed parquet floor.

If you treat your parquet floor with black tea every three months, it will look fresh and well-groomed for a long time to come. However, you should be careful with very light parquet floors, because the drink can also darken them. Therefore, it is advisable to always carry out a test on an inconspicuous area first.

Here's how to make the tea cure for your parquet:

  • Before mopping, first clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner.
  • Then brew a cup of strong black tea and add it to the cleaning bucket.
  • Depending on the darkness of the wood of your parquet floor, you should dilute the tea again with warm water so that the tea is not too strong and your floor darkens. It is best to test the mixture beforehand with a rag in an inconspicuous area.
  • Dip a cotton mop or mop into the black tea and wring it out so that it is only slightly damp, then use it to mop the floor. Caution: Do not use microfiber cloths - these can scratch the parquet.

If you want to clean your parquet from the ground up, it is advisable to use a special parquet cleaner and not to wipe it too wet. Incorrect wiping can cause lasting damage to the parquet.
