Highlights: A model and web personality photographed herself in a stimulating pose next to a tree located near a temple in the Tabanan area. A local activist exposed her online, prompting her to be arrested before her expulsion. "Do you think you'll look cool to take nude photos with our sacred trees? Go back to your country if you can't respect our traditions and culture," she wrote in her now-viral Instagram post. This is the second time in almost a year that a tourist has been accused of disrespecting the sacred tree.

A Russian woman who was photographed nude hugging a sacred tree in Bali has been arrested and deported by Indonesian authorities. Russian tourist Luiza Kosik, 40, a model and internet personality, posted photos on her Instagram of herself posing next to the 700-year-old kayu putih (weeping paper bark) tree at Tabanan Temple.

Ni Lou Djalantic, a local entrepreneur, posted the nude photos on social media a month ago and criticized the tourist. "To all foreigners who disrespect our country - Bali is our home, not yours!" she wrote in her now-viral Instagram post. "Do you think you'll look cool to take nude photos with our sacred trees? Go back to your country if you can't respect our traditions and culture," she wrote.

She also tagged the Russian model who described herself as a "spiritual lover, energizing and healing" on Instagram. However, according to The Independent, since publication, her Instagram page has been deleted.

After the publication, Indonesian authorities arrested Kosik and a spokeswoman for Bali's Legal and Human Rights Agency said the Russian citizen had left Denpasar, the capital of Bali province, and boarded a flight to Moscow.

However, according to some local reports, the subject insisted that the photo was from several years ago and that she had no idea that the tree was considered sacred. "Not all tourists know what is allowed and what is not allowed in Bali. So we urge locals to pay close attention to help prevent similar incidents from happening again," said a senior official from the local legal and human rights agency.

This is the second time in almost a year that a tourist has been accused of disrespecting the sacred tree. Russian Instagram influencer Alina Phazalyeva took nude photos near the tree in May last year. Even then, Djalantik reported the tourist and her husband to the authorities.

Fazalyeva quickly deleted the offensive photo and posted an apology video and a photo of her praying under the same tree with a caption in the local language. "I apologize on behalf of all the people in Bali and Indonesia, I regret my actions. I'm so ashamed. I didn't mean to hurt anyone in any way, I had no information about this place. I just prayed under a tree and went straight to the police to explain my actions and apologize," she said. She also reportedly reached out to the person who complained to her to apologize to him.
