These American girlfriends couldn't believe this was happening to them: comedian duo Chrissy Myrus and Keanu Thompson were humiliated at Las Vegas International Airport after being told the clothes they were wearing were "inappropriate." The two were even told that they had to change their clothes and only then would they be allowed to board the flight, but here comes a strange twist in the plot: the "replacement" clothes they were required to wear were much more revealing than the original clothes.

As can be seen in the photos the two posted on social media, Chrissy and Keanu chose to wear sets of clothes in a similar style. They both arrived at the airport wearing belly-bared tie-up shirts, with Chrissy sporting black sequined pants and Keanu wearing a tropical-style leaf-print maxi skirt revealing one of her thighs.

Whoever was responsible for the incident: a man

The two say American Airlines ground attendants at the airport asked them to change into shorts in a particularly bold way. "Looks like shorts are okay while pedalphone pants aren't," Chrissy tweeted. "This is really not the way to behave with customers," Keanu tweeted. Chrissy also said in shock: "We literally had to change clothes at the boarding gate without anything to hide us. They sent me and Keanu with underwear so they showed us the f***ing f*** from the waist down. How could such a thing be okay?"

Chrissy added that the person responsible for this whole incident was a man. "I wish he had told us we could go to the public restroom to change clothes, or at least behind a desk or even behind a towel or something."

The Daily Mail reports that American Airlines states that as part of its terms "all customers are obliged to dress appropriately and offensive clothing is not permitted on our flights." However, in response to Chrissy's tweet, a company representative responded, writing: "Your comments concern us. Feel free to write us a message. We are here and ready to listen."

"I didn't know it was a crime to be beautiful"

However, the pair's followers really didn't understand why they had to change clothes before everyone else at the airport, and why revealing pants were the more "proper" alternative. One commenter called the incident "outrageous" and another noted: "I really don't understand, they were wearing pants and a full-length skirt!" "You look beautiful, but I didn't know it was a crime to be beautiful," wrote one commenter, while another added: "It seems so illogical it's hard to believe it actually happened."

This is certainly not the first time passengers have been required to change clothes before boarding. Last year, an American passenger claimed she was told to change her bare-shouldered shirt out of concern that it was "offensive." She said she was told that the airline (Southwest Airlines, in this case) was "a family company and some people would be hurt by it."
