The cyclists ended the week with a mountainous event, between Capua and Gran Sasso d'Italia. This Saturday on the Eurosport channel, the competitors leave Terni, and must join Fossombrone. This new stage extends over a total length of 207 kilometers, and includes a loop at the end of the route. Once the two sprints have passed, the route leads the riders to I Cappuccini, a level 4 pass. Once crossed, participants face the Monte delle Cesane, a level 2 pass, before returning to the Cappuccini. The stage then ends with a straight line of 700 meters, in Fossombrone. On Sunday, cyclists challenge each other in a time trial stage between Savignano sul Rubicone and Cesena. The roads are large and paved. As for the difference in altitude, it is almost non-existent. However, the crossing of Cesena has a stretch of porphyry, which requires caution. This ninth stage allows the riders to get ahead in the classification, before the first rest day.
