Whether it is a long weekend – such as the next one on May 25 – or any other time of the year, within the plans in the chosen destination the classic attractions are usually included.

For those looking for different experiences in each place, with a great plus of adventure, the geography of Argentina offers many alternatives.

Here, five suggestions full of vertigo, adrenaline and fun in some of the incredible natural landscapes of the country.

1. Paragliding flight (Mendoza)

One says "Mendoza" and the first thing one thinks of is an image of a vineyard or a visit to a winery, with the Andes Mountains as a backdrop.

But Mendoza is also synonymous with adventure. "One of the most innovative and daring experiences that visitors choose is the paragliding flight over the city that gives extraordinary panoramic views of the summits and their surroundings," they say in Civitatis, a company that commercializes guided tours, excursions and free tours in Spanish.

The proposal includes transfer from the hotel, crossing in a 4x4 vehicle to Cerro Arco -at 1,650 meters high on the outskirts of the capital- and, once at the top, everything is ready to fly.

An instructor sets the basic safety guidelines and then puts on helmets, harnesses and the rest of the regulatory equipment to launch into the adventure.

The flight is done in two-seater paragliders handled by the instructor. The activity lasts approximately 20 minutes with return to the same starting point.

2. Speedboat under the Falls (Puerto Iguazú, Misiones)

The Iguazu Falls have a special magnetism and the whole year is a good time to escape to visit them.

The power of the waterfalls -especially the Devil's Throat- and the jungle environment generate a wonderful postcard.

Beyond walking the walkways and stopping at every step in search of the best photo, a very fun option is a tour of the jungle in a 4x4 vehicle and navigation by speedboat to the fall of one of the highest jumps of the waterfall. A well-soaked finish.

3. Beagle Channel from the sky (Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego)

The capital of Tierra del Fuego is nestled in a valley surrounded by the Andes Mountains and the Beagle Channel, which in autumn shows a range of surprising tones in its landscapes.

An alternative outside the classic circuit is a helicopter ride to fly over the city, the canal, the valleys, the Emerald Lagoon and the Andes Mountains, among other fabulous enclaves. The proposal contemplates three different options depending on the flight time: 7 minutes, 15 minutes and half an hour. The last one, being the most extensive, has as a great plus of landing on the top of the mountains and making a toast with champagne there.

4. Kayak in front of the Perito Moreno glacier (El Calafate, Santa Cruz)

The imposing blocks of ice of the Perito Moreno glacier are a wall of irregular lines along five kilometers with peaks of more than sixty meters high, which summon visitors from all over the world.

In the area there are several proposals: from contemplating the glacier walking along the walkways to doing a minitrekking on the surface.

An excursion for the bold is the kayak trip that allows you to enjoy this natural wonder in a unique way.

"Once inside the park, the participants receive the equipment with the regulatory thermal suit so as not to get cold and a brief theoretical rowing class by specialized instructors, followed by the basic safety rules. After this preview, adventurers will be able to get on the kayaks and navigate Lake Argentino with the incomparable scenery of the glacier between impressive ice floes, "they explain in Civitatis.

The experience lasts an hour and a half and ends with a hot drink in a cabin to replenish energy and a couple of free hours to explore the surroundings.

5. Diving in Lake Moreno (Bariloche, Río Negro)

Bariloche is one of the gateways to Patagonia.

For those looking for an excursion outside the traditional, baptism diving in Lake Moreno could fulfill the dream of many to start in this sport. And do it in a privileged environment such as the crystal clear waters of this destination.

"The activity is aimed at those who have no previous experience in scuba diving," they say in Civitatis.

And they add: "It takes place on the shores of Lake Moreno, next to the bridge of the Circuito Chico, where beginner divers receive a brief theoretical class through which they are taught to handle the complete equipment for practice, which includes tank, wetsuits, visors and fins, as well as identify underwater communication signals and know the basics of safety. "

Underwater, you can enjoy an amazing underwater ecosystem where the protagonists are fish and different aquatic plants.

The activity lasts approximately two hours.

The proposal is also available for experienced divers who have the diving license (PADI Open Water, One Star Diver, PADI Rescue Diver or similar).
