The airline Andes was authorized by the National Civil Aviation Administration (ANAC) to fly again, after having met the necessary requirements to carry out its operations, according to official sources.
With the endorsement of ANAC after having fulfilled all the requirements to recertify as an operator of air services in Argentina, the airline Andes is enabled, from this moment, to return to operate regular and non-scheduled internal and international air transport services of passengers, cargo and mail with large aircraft. according to the resolution of the agency.
The "recertification" is a complex process of five phases in which ANAC accompanied Andes to be able to guarantee the operational, financial and legal and, from now on, it will be able to operate again after having suspended its flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Andes met the necessary requirements and was authorized to operate.
The head of ANAC, Paola Tamburelli, expressed her satisfaction with the return of Andes and noted that "it joins a cabotage air transport network that, at this time, already has more flights than before the pandemic."
The history of the airline
The airline that carries white and borravino colors was founded in 2006 in Salta.
With an operational base at the airport of that northern city, Andes grew strongly until the 2010s, when several factors led to a shrinking of its operations.
In 2018 Andes reached a peak of 1.08 million passengers transported.
The objective of the return of Andes is to reoccupy that space that it lost as a reference in charter flights and for the moment, the airline would not operate openly to the public with daily routes.
With a strong imprint on the charter market, Andes had captured an important portion of that market and at the end of its operations the company had focused on special flights for tourism in the Caribbean and northern Brazil, in addition to offering services for graduate trips.
