Mysterious book is hyped – is it Taylor Swift's biography?

How a book becomes a bestseller is not revealed by publishing houses and employees. They have maintained this in recent decades. But this big question now seems to have been answered: Get Taylor Swift fans to believe that the artist has written a book. An unknown book is now about to storm the American bestseller lists. But is the book really by Taylor Swift?

Fans had collected clues, as reported by the Washington Post and the Guardian, which lead to believe that the book with the more than unwieldy title "4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023" is by the 33-year-old exceptional artist. After all, Swift is known for occasionally adding Easter eggs (it can be hidden content in software, movies or video games) to songs for her fans.

But not much is really known about the title. An author is not named. But the Swift fans were very busy and developed such a hype around the book, which costs the equivalent of about 41 euros and climbed to second place in the US Amazon bestseller lists. At the bookstore chain Barnes & Noble, it even topped the list for pre-orders.

Where do the assumptions that the book is the biography of Taylor Swift come from? For the fans, this is very easy to explain. According to a report by the publisher Flatiron, the author will be announced on June 13. The book has 544 pages, which finally results in 13 in the checksum. And 13 is the singer's official lucky number. According to media reports, the artist is said to have addressed her fans on social networks with "Dear Reader".

Biography with 40 photos of Taylor Swift: only vague assumptions

The publishing house published more information about the book in a document. It referred to it as a biography or autobiography and it contained around 40 photos. The book is scheduled to be published on July 9 with an initial print run of one million copies. The July 9 release date is a clue to the lyrics of their latest song, "Last Kiss," which appeared on their third album, "Speak Now." According to the publisher's document, it will be a mixture of actor Matthew Perry's biography and Prince Harry's "Reserve".
