It was close, on the verge of too close, but the (semi-official) announcement of the ceasefire ending Operation Shield and Arrow was also the (completely) official announcement of a change of focus and diversion of attention to things a little less important, but much more fun, and delicious.
Or in short - Tel Aviv EAT Festival 2023.
Tel Aviv's big food event (and Israel, let's face it) returned Monday evening to Charles Clore Park in Tel Aviv with a lot of expectations on their shoulders, and a similar amount of receipts to issue to the hungry audience.
The past few years have accustomed the same audience to a display of culinary purpose, and they responded with their feet, and en masse. Now, naturally, comes the need to go to another level, and go for bigger, tastier and more worthwhile.

Accordingly, the festival is expected to produce, well, a festival - dozens of food and food truck stands, intriguing collaborations and surprising guest appearances, famous chefs who go down to the lawn (and the people) and promises that are about to be made famous autoto, mythological dishes and viral dishes, network stars and stars of life itself - all at clearly un-Tel Aviv prices of NIS 25-40.

Jaffa Tel Aviv, on the other hand, will go for chicken gyros in a pita, French meat stew on pasta and its knafeh of course.
Shaul Ben Aderetwill bring hisblue roosterwith shawarma on masbaha, an asado sandwich with brioche, smoked roast beef and a rich chocolate dish.
Guy Gamzuwill replicateNUNUNUon its decadent milk buns, with shrimp popcorn, deconstructed beef, mac and cheese and a dessert version of salted pretzels.
Avi Levywill arrive from Jerusalem with mixed (of course) with fresh parana, kebabs in pita and an Algerian vegetarian sandwich in challah. God, this is just the beginning.

We have already written extensively about Pescado and Estrella Damme's collaboration, and rightly so, but of course we will mention it here as well, with an Ashdod-Barcelonai stand of soft hamburger buns, including fresh pickled fish or red tuna in a Moroccan dish.
On. Mexicanawill come with tacos, beef barbacoa, chili con carne and churros of course. Anyway.
Nini Hachiwill take east with chicken pad thai or vegetarian pad thai, gyoza, sushi and papaya salad.
Wongwill compare and rise with Korean wings, banh buns loaded with deconstructed beef and grilled corn.
The excellent Dalidawill bring skewers, pita bread and her luxurious working hands.
Israel Aharonisaw that it was good, and returned with his hit burger, fries and also intriguing and tempting desserts.

Not yet. Not yet. There will be crème brulee with cotton candy of thebrulia, colorful acai bowls ofEnerjosar, knafeh and banana lotti, a croissant filled with ice cream and a presentation ofthe pancake house. We told you to reserve space, and we meant it.
