This season, the Nuggets finished first in the conference, 10 wins ahead of the Lakers. In the Eastern Conference, the Miami Heat face the Celtics, after defeating the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round, and the New York Knicks in the semifinals. Opposite, Boston won against the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Miami Heat finished the regular season in eighth place, with 48 wins to 38 losses.
