Rai, through the UER/Warner-Discovery offer, has been awarded the broadcasting rights for Italy for all platforms (TV, internet and mobile), linear and non-linear, exclusively free-to-air, in addition to the non-exclusive radio rights for Italy, San Marino and Vatican City, with the obligation of encryption and geo-blocking, of the edition of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Games (for a total of 250 hours of transmission) and of the subsequent Summer Olympics, Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032, as well as the winter ones of 2030, not yet assigned to the organizing location. This was announced by Viale Mazzini.
Rai, which already has in its portfolio the broadcasting rights of the Paris 2024 Games, for a total of 360 hours exclusively free-to-air on all platforms - continues the note - "confirms, with this acquisition officially confirmed today by the IOC, its commitment to the transmission of major global sporting events, in full compliance with its public service mission".
