Tacita Dean, an exhibition and a ballet

Double news for the British artist Tacita Dean. On the one hand, it presents a major exhibition consisting of unpublished works at the Bourse de Commerce. Echoing the season "Before the storm", she uses film, photography, drawing, collage, is interested in time, invites chance, praises slowness. On the other hand, she collaborates on The Dante Project, which enters the repertoire of the Paris Opera, an original score by composer Thomas Adès, in a choreography by Wayne MacGregor for which she signs the scenography and costumes. The ballet sets use a different medium (drawing, photography, film) for each of the three acts inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy. From representation to abstraction, they follow Dante's journey through the afterlife. "All the things that attract me are about to disappear," she says.

Jean Marie del Moral exhibits at the Palau Foundation

Mas Miró, el taller, Mont-Roig, 2022. Còpia Digigraphie sobre paper Hahnemühle 325g30 x 24 cm Jean-Marie Del Moral

This year celebrates the double anniversary of Picasso's death and Miro's death, fifty and forty years ago respectively. The two painters, who saw the same things, painted them differently. Jean-Marie del Moral for whom "the photographer is a lone hunter" crisscrossed the roads of the two villages of Catalonia, Horta de Sant Joan and Mont-Roig del Camp. The result: 60 black and white and color photographs that celebrate the similarities between the two imaginaries. Same olive trees, skies, mountains, chapels or rocks... It took the subtle and poetic look of Jean-Marie del Moral, a great connoisseur of painters, to demonstrate that we are the children of our landscape.

Horta Picasso, Miro Mont-Roig, Jean Marie del Moral, until September 24th at the Palau Foundation in Caldes d'Estrac in Catalonia.

Life is a party, the latest burlesque creation of the Dogs of Navarre

Life is a party, the latest creation of the Dogs of Navarre. Philippe Lebruman

La vie est une fête is the latest creation (2022) by Jean-Christophe Meurisse and the company Les Chiens de Navarre. The show has Woody Allen's punch line as its adage: "As long as man is mortal, he will not be relaxed". A litote, an antiphrase like the title... After national identity (Until in your arms, 2017) and family neuroses (Everyone can not be an orphan, 2019), the troupe takes up the theme of madness. Our depressions are not only due to our personal lives but to the state of the world. A stage writing concocted from the improvisations of the actors, a theater augmented by the freedom left to each and the refusal to sanctify a form. The Dogs of Navarre always bark, even bite!

Life is a party, from May 10 to June 3, at the Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord.

Lionel Sabatté in majesty in Chambord

From one castle to another. Lionel Sabatté realized in situ the installation Membranes in the park of Chaumont-sur-Loire. At the same time the artist, one of the most promising of his generation, had the keys to Chambord. In residence in the castle, the spirit of the place has nourished a large part of the 150 works presented. He is known for his work on rust or dust. Here, we perceive his intimate connection with nature, the animal, and rebirth. A shaman, Lionel Sabatté!

Clandestine pollens, from May 14 to September 17, at the Château de Chambord.

Pascal Demolon: the only one on stage

Pascal Demolon on stage. Press photo

This is the first time that the actor Pascal Demolon (Kaamelott, Fais pas çi fais pas ça, Radiostars...) goes on stage alone. The story? An investigation into a murder in a village is based on Julie Estève's novel Simple. But in fact, nothing is! We understand from the beginning (or not, as this character is crazy) that the witness (or the accused, we are in uncertainty) is a little crippled mentally. Pascal Demolon at the Dance Club, on his moped, cherishing his notebook full of words about happiness in Darth Vader, dancing to She's a Lady by Tom Jones, fan of Dwayne Johnson etc., In short, we travel in this village, but also (and especially) in this disadvantaged head unbalancing all his senses! Magnificent scenographic performance.

C'est qui qu'a fait quoi?, until July 1st, at the Théâtre de l'Œuvre.
