In recent years, investment in the capital of unlisted companies has not been the prerogative of professionals. "According to France Invest's figures, of the more than €25 billion raised in private equity in 2022, 19% was made with individuals or family offices, directly or through life insurance contracts," said Dominique Dorlipo, head of Goldman Sachs AM France. This proportion was only 13% in 2019. Admittedly, these are often wealthy individuals, but the rise of private equity units of account available in life insurance is very real: 631 million euros were raised via this channel in 2022, 56% more than in 2021. Some insurers, such as Generali or Spirica, even offer to invest for tickets of only 1000 euros.
