The Spanish Supreme Court has ruled in favor of Miguel Bosé in a case opened by former partner Ignacio Palau, concerning the biological children of both (two of the first and two of the second). The court has in fact rejected the request of the latter (contrary to the will of the singer) to recognize the four minors as brothers and therefore all children of both former partners: we learn from an official statement taken up by the Iberian media. According to the court, the fact that the four children had lived together by virtue of their parents' relationship is not sufficient to automatically determine an official paternity relationship in the event of a lack of biological relationship, and that for that purpose the law provides for recourse to adoption.
The judgment, which confirms resolutions already issued in the same sense at first instance and on appeal, concludes that "the rejection of the alleged filiation does not deprive the children of their rights or harm their identity", as it does not prevent them from "maintaining links with the persons with whom they have established an emotional relationship". The biological children of Bosé and Palau are the result of the practice of surrogacy. Since the separation between the two, which took place in 2018, two children have lived in Mexico with the singer and the other two in Spain with Palau.
