Nick Kyrgios will not attend Roland Garros due to a foot injury sustained earlier this month during a robbery. The news was given by Daniel Horsfall, agent of the 28-year-old Australian tennis player: in an interview with the Canberra Times he wanted to correct the organizers of the Parisian tournament who had justified the absence of the number 26 in the ATP ranking with the slow recovery from a knee operation.
According to the agent, however, Kyrgios would have cut his foot during an attempted robbery at his mother's home in Australia. The robber allegedly stole his car with the gun, he explained, specifying that "the knee surgery went well and that his rehabilitation was fantastic". According to local journalistic reconstructions, a man pointed a gun at Kyrgios' mother before stealing the car near his home in Canberra. Kyrgios allegedly called the police and, using an app on his phone, helped the cops track his location. It is unclear, however, how he cut his foot.
