Highlights: A Netto customer discovered small white creatures in his sockeye wild salmon. On the net, the buyer turns to the discounter with clear words. "Instead of investing the money in marketing to make other companies look bad, maybe you could put your money into better quality control," he complained. Netto did not leave the post uncommented: "Thank you very much for informing us about this. How annoying that you had this experience with our salmon. We would be happy to help you in this case"

Munich – Not a good start to the day: Instead of a fine breakfast with Sunday rolls and salmon, a Netto customer got a huge fright: On his sockeye wild salmon of Netto's own brand "Sea Gold" he discovered small white creatures.

Netto customer shares pictures on the net: "Fancy salmon with nematodes?"

"Would you also like a piece of salmon with nematodes (nematodes) on a Sunday roll?" the consumer complained on Facebook, posting pictures of his disgusting find underneath. It shows tiny thread-like worms that seem to have spread out on the salmon.

Many are probably familiar with nematodes for pest control on plants. They can be successfully used, for example, in the case of an infestation with weevils, grubs and snails. However, the small animals can also get into food by ingesting fish with food, for example. In this way, other worms can also get into the fish – most recently, a Rewe customer had to make this disgusting experience.

However, the fact that Netto did not discover the parasites before packaging is incomprehensible to the angry customer. "Instead of investing the money in marketing to make other companies look bad, maybe you could put your money into better quality control," he complained on the net. A little more conciliatory, he ended his frenzy with "Wish you a happy Sunday."

Netto did not leave the post uncommented: "Thank you very much for informing us about this. How annoying that you had this experience with our salmon. We would be happy to help you in this case. Would you like to write us a private message about this?" the discounter replied under the post of the disgruntled consumer.

Another Facebook user questions the accusation of the Netto customer

However, another Facebook user reacted less sympathetically and questioned the accusations of the disgusted buyer. "Is it just me who doesn't see any or are there just none?" the woman wrote with a laughing emoji. As a result, another user intervened who did not accept the comment. She herself had discovered the nematodes of the angry Netto customer: "Look at the second picture!"

In addition to worms in food, moldy food in supermarkets and discounters also regularly causes a stir. A Penny customer discovered green-blue mold in an unopened cheese package. And not everything always runs smoothly at Kaufland either: One customer could hardly believe his eyes when he took a bite of his croissant with relish. (tt)
