What is it?
In the heart of the Himalayas, Tibetan monks spend most of their time sitting, reading or praying in their monastery. It is to compensate for this sedentary lifestyle that the Five Tibetans would have been invented: a series of 5 gestures inspired by yoga, each to be repeated between 3 and 21 times in a row, before moving on to the next. Popularized in the West by Peter Kelder's book, The Five Tibetans, Secrets of Youth and Vitality (Éditions Lanore), the Five Tibetans represent an easy and energizing routine to practice in the morning.

The sequence of these postures is supposed to activate the seven chakras, stimulating and regulating the associated endocrine glands: the sex glands, the adrenal gland, the pancreas, the thymus, the thyroid, the pituitary gland and the epiphysis. It also strengthens muscles and joints, improves flexibility and stimulates the nervous system. Who can top that? Beginners will repeat each gesture 3 times in a row, before moving on to the next...
