For more than a decade, Ed Sheeran has been one of the most popular singers around the world, one whose almost every song becomes a big international hit. Ty Jones, a 28-year-old Manchester resident, may look a lot like the redheaded superstar – but he doesn't always seem to enjoy the attention he gets.
"I'm his 'evil twin' even though I don't really know how to sing. Even so, people always comment on the videos I post on social media, writing me things like, 'Oh my God, it's Ed Sheeran!' even though I keep reacting that I'm not him," Jones told the New York Post. "Just because I look like Ed Sheeran, does that mean I can't post videos on TikTok?"

Although he mentions on quite a few occasions that he is not Ed Sheeran, he sometimes exploits his physical resemblance to the star to create content in which he laughs at exactly that. "I do it as a full-time job, I've been eager to promote what I do and my business. Maybe TikTok should block Ed for imitating me, because he looks like me too," he said with a laugh.
According to Jones, the popular social network blocked him on the grounds that he was pretending to be someone he was not. "I appealed, and within minutes received a response that the appeal had been rejected," Jones wrote in a post on his Instagram account. "I feel discriminated against solely because of my appearance. I contacted Sheeran's team, but they claim they have no involvement in this decision."
After The Sun took to TikTok, the social network reinstated Jones' account, where he has 110,<> followers who can enjoy his content.
