When shopping, you are used to a lot as a customer. But Aldi now wants to bring about a big change that other discounters have already undergone.
When shopping, everyone has their preferences. Some go to Lidl, others to Kaufland and still others like to go to Aldi or other supermarkets and discounters in Baden-Württemberg. The choice is often about the products, the taste, but also the habit. At Aldi Süd, customers now have to adjust to the fact that a lot will change. The discounter giant is breaking an unwritten law!
Aldi rebuilds: Structure in the development of the discounter changes
In supermarkets and discount stores, there are various tricks that customers are supposed to use to buy more. echo24.de has already presented some of them – among other things, the size and shape of the shopping cart are deliberately chosen. But what Aldi Süd is now planning is something that was previously unimaginable.
Customers of the discounter know: At Aldi Süd and Aldi Nord, the stores are set up in the same way. The recognition value, the feeling of knowing where to find something when shopping – the uniform store structure was predetermined at Aldi, although the competition, i.e. Lidl, for example, had already changed that. But: Now Aldi will also break up the usual structure, as echo24.de reports.
Change at Aldi: Store structure is being redesigned
As reported by "derwesten.de", among others, Aldi Nord had already begun to set up fruit and vegetables in the entrance area a good year ago. This has been the practice at most supermarkets and discounters for years, but not so at Aldi. It was an internal test to see if it was well received, because so far Aldi has tended to have breakfast goods such as coffee, jam or muesli as the first thing in the store.
As echo24.de already reported, fresh products, such as fruit and vegetables, in the entrance area are also a trick of the discounters, because they provide a positive feeling when shopping. Aldi is now breaking with its own tradition and not only putting fruit and vegetables in the entrance area, but also baked goods. The changes are to follow gradually at Aldi. Some Aldi Süd stores have already been rebuilt in this way.
Aldi Süd, however, has changed its refrigerated counters in particular. These are said to have been equipped with doors since April. Other discounters and supermarkets, including Lidl and Kaufland, also have to go along with another change: the plastic bottles are getting a new function. In some cases, manufacturers have already made the switch in accordance with EU requirements so that the lid of PET bottles can no longer fall off. A change that affects everyone and is intended to help against environmental pollution.
