US President Joe Biden said he expected "a very short thaw with China" during the press conference at the end of the G7 summit in Hiroshima. Biden assured that there is no change on Taiwan regarding the "'One China' policy", but stressed that "what we do not accept" are changes in the status quo with the use of force.

"We call on all parties to resolve issues by peaceful means," Biden said at a press conference.

From the G7 in Hiroshima, he added, emerged "a message of determination and unity", demonstrating that "Putin will not undermine our determination". The Group of Seven, he said, is determined in "supporting Ukraine. We demand the immediate withdrawal of Russian troops."
