If you want to treat yourself to a delicious cooling off in summer, frozen yoghurt is a good choice. This makes it easy to prepare the ice cream alternative at home.

High temperatures require rapid cooling. Frozen yoghurt has emerged as an alternative to classic ice cream. Because it has fewer calories and a lower fat content than ice cream, this treat is becoming increasingly popular. However, conventional products often contain various additives that make the yoghurt last longer. Frozen yoghurt can also be easily prepared at home without thickeners and emulsifiers. It only takes three ingredients.

To make a real frozen yogurt, you only need three ingredients (for two servings):

  • 300 g Greek yogurt
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 6 tablespoons agave syrup or honey

Put the ingredients in a blender until a fluffy and smooth consistency is obtained. Then pour the mass into a container, and then place it in the freezer. Mix well 45 minutes later and then let it rest in the refrigerator for another two hours. For an ideal consistency, you should take the frozen yoghurt out of the freezer every half hour and stir vigorously again with a spatula. Place in the fresh air before serving and let it thaw a little until creamy yet firm. For that extra kick, you can also refine the frozen yoghurt with frozen fruits such as berries or mango.

Toppings for a frozen yoghurt

To ensure that frozen yoghurt is also a really healthy alternative to ice cream, the right toppings are crucial. Biscuits and chocolate are in the background and fruits are in the spotlight: mango, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries or bananas are a tasty choice here. By the way: Thanks to a quick tip, strawberries and the like no longer mold. But dried fruit such as apricots, sour cherries, cranberries or figs are also an ideal complement to frozen yoghurt.
