(ANSA) - ATHENS, 21 MAY - "Today we vote for higher wages, we vote for more and better jobs, for a stronger country, with an important role in Europe, with protected borders". This was declared by outgoing Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis outside the polling station where he went to vote this morning, in the northern Athens suburb of Kifisia.
In front of journalists, the leader of the conservative party ofNea Dimokratia said he was "absolutely certain that tomorrow will be an even better day for our country".
Syriza Secretary Alexis Tsipras also voted in Athens this morning. Outside his seat in the Kypseli district, the opposition leader said that Greeks now have the chance to "leave behind four years of inequality and injustice" and an "arrogant government that does not feel the needs of the many". The secretary of Syriza then concluded: "Change today is in the hands of our people." (ANSA).
