Once again, the Croisette was treated to an exceptional red carpet for its sixth day of competition. American actress Jennifer Lawrence appeared earlier in the afternoon for the special screening of Sahra Mani's film Bread and Roses. At the same time, Justine Triet, surrounded by her entire team, also climbed the steps of the Palais des Festivals to present her fourth feature film, Anatomy of a Fall, which competes in the official competition of this 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

The dreadful Henry VIII
But the one everyone was waiting for tonight was none other than British actor Jude Law, starring in The Queen's Game, signed by Brazilian Karim Aïnouz. We owe to the latter the award-winning film The Invisible Life by Eurídice Gusmão, or the documentary The Sailor of the Mountains, presented last year in Cannes in a special screening. The filmmaker returns this time with a historical biopic that tells the fate of Catherine Parr, played by Alicia Vikander, sixth and last wife of the frightful King Henry VIII, played by Jude Law.
The interpreter of the Talented Mr Ripley, holder of a César d'honneur in 2007, caused a sensation on the red carpet, dressed in an elegant tuxedo and a perfectly trimmed mustache. At her side, we noticed her playing partner, Alicia Vikander, appeared in a light nude dress, but also other members of the cast, such as Sam Riley, Gabrielle Tana, Junia Rees or Mina Andala.

Marion Cotillard and Michelle Yeoh
Many stars were present in the hall of the Palais des Festivals to discover this new production. Michelle Yeoh, who won the Oscar for Best Actress for her role in Evelyn Wang's Everything Everywhere All at Once, did not go unnoticed in her green dress, topped with an XXL cape. French actress Marion Cotillard also cracked the red carpet, not failing to stop to take a few selfies with her fans. Always sumptuous, she had opted for a bathrobe jacket signed Chanel and for a beauty with a feline look: mane and makeup effect "cat eyes".
